Carradine | Super Cash Exceeding Expectations!
Four-year-old thoroughbred gelding, Carradine, never raced. Although bred with the intention to be raced, Carradine instead was rehomed to Marissa Marriott, who took on the unhandled two year old colt and worked with him to become an eventer. By God has Spoken and out of Just de Lovely, Carradine has developed into a handsome horse who is quickly learning the ropes of eventing.
Upon acquiring Carradine as a two-year-old, Marissa sent the handsome colt for handling and saddle education with Dain Harrison. Carradine was then spelled and sent to Laurelle Hayes for further development towards his off the track career. Known around the stables as ‘Cash’, Carradine has taken his time to mature but has proved to have a bright future ahead of him. With slow progress to allow the gelding to grow, Cash and Laurelle have been working together to develop towards a competitive ridden career.
In 2022, Cash attended the Bibs and Booties event hosted by Dilutes Aus WA, where he was awarded Supreme Led Thoroughbred. That same year, Cash attended the SPPHAWA Dual Code where he won Champion Thoroughbred Junior. Now in 2024, Cash has entered into the world of eventing, claiming a first place at his first event! Winning the 65cm OTT class at Murray Eventing, Cash and Laurelle have started their partnership strong with Marissa’s continual support. Carradine recently placed seventh in the 65 OTT class at Brigadoon CCN, his second eventing start just outside of the top 6 placing.
OTTWA wish Cash, Marissa, and Laurelle all the best for their future together and we look forward to following along as the progress up the levels.
