Vengeance of War | Only Love, not War, for Vengi
Vengeance of War was bred in New South Wales in 2015. By Declaration of War and out of Bunda Grande, this gelding began his racing career in 2017. Trained by several trainers, such as: Grant and Alana Williams, Peter Fernie, Jody Mclaughlin and Zach Tyler, Vengeance of War raced for a total of nineteen starts. Across those nineteen starts, Vengeance won one race, and placed in five others. Retiring in 2021, Vengeance of War concluded his race career with $27,341 in lifetime earnings.
Following retirement from racing, Vengeance of War was rehomed directly after racing to Anastasia Breach, owner, and operator of Nyamba Performance Horses. Anastasia had developed a love for thoroughbreds through her previous event horse and grew to love their willingness to please. Anastasia bought Vengeance of War with the intention to train him up to become her future event horse.
“Vengi took to his new life very quickly!” commented Anastasia. “We’ve had a few setbacks along the way, but he is certainly something special.”
‘Vengi’ is described as a lovable big character, who thrives off human affection and has a trainable nature. Vengi was the first horse Anastasia had retrained herself, so to get him out to his first event in December of 2021, three months after retiring from racing in September, was a huge accomplishment. This pair now compete in eventing and show jumping primarily. In 2023, Anastasia and Vengeance of War competed in their first 90cm show jumping round, which was another huge accomplishment in their off the track career.
“For the rest of the 2024 season, I would like to get him confident around cross country and to improve our dressage,” said Anastasia.
Off the Track WA wish Vengi and Anastasia all the best for the future ahead of them!
