Racing and Wagering Western Australia’s (RWWA) Off the Track WA (OTTWA) program plays an integral part in promoting thoroughbreds and standardbreds in their second careers as pleasure and performance horses.
OTTWA Passport
The OTTWA Passport provides access to all OTTWA initiatives and incentives to owners of retired racehorses.
With over 4,500 passports claimed as of November 2024, more and more retired racehorse owners are reaping the benefits offered to them.

OTTWA Clinics
Hosting educational clinics throughout the state, Off the Track WA supports the education of retired racehorses as they transition into off the track careers.
In partnership with Equestrian WA, Off the Track WA hosted 17 clinics in 2024. Over 600 retired racehorses were registered for these clinics, with expert education and support provided by accredited coaches.

Providing sponsorship to clubs in regional areas to host educational clinics, with the intention to increase the educational support provided to retired racehorses in these regions.

OTTWA Retraining and Rehoming Program
Rehoming horses that have been accepted through an admission panel to new homes. Potential purchasers submit an expression of interest, and are then vetted to best suit the horses needs.
This retraining program is one of several pathways trainers may use to rehome their racehorse after racing.
