Lost East Estees | WA Diamond Ready to Shine in Victoria

A 2009 Medal of Honor gelding, Lost East Estees raced under trainer and breeder Glenys Leeson before retiring in 2013 after nine starts and no placings.

Lost East Estees first home off the track was with Michelle Barkley who started on the gelding’s flatwork education but found they did not click as a pair. In 2014 Michelle, who was moving back home east rehomed Lost East Estees, affectionately known as Henry to Kate Joyce.

Competing as The Diamond Thief, this talented gelding began his eventing at the 2016 Capel CCN where he competed in the 95cm class and finished mid-field. From here on in it has been onwards and upwards; Henry and Kate’s list of achievements over the past six years is long and full of highlights.

The pairs’ accolades include winners of the 2021 WA Farm Shop 3* Eventing Grand Slam, 2021 Horseland 3* EWA Eventing Leader Board, and 2021 EWA Best Performed Off the Track Horse. On course their accomplishments include winning the 2021 Wooroloo CCI 3* L class, 2021 Equestrian in The Park Grand Prix class, 2021 Alcoa CCI 3* S class, and Wooroloo CNC 3* S class.

Having just completed an extended training course with Bettina Hoy and Sam Lyle arranged by the WA High Performance squad Henry and Kate will begin their journey to Victoria on Thursday.

They will prepare under the expert eye of Will Enzinger at his property in the Yarra Valley before competing in the 3* class at Melbourne International 3 Day Event.
