Lyrical Discourse & Tegan Cook | Partnership in Harmony for Melbourne International 3DE.
The third combination to join the OTTWA sponsored competitors for the 2023 Melbourne International Three Day Event is Tegan Cook and Lyrical Discourse (competing as Moet).
Tegan and Moet’s partnership needs no introduction in WA’s eventing community, and we can’t wait for the rest of Australia to meet them!
Lyrical Discourse, a 2011 gelding by Discorsi trained under David Harrison for a short racing career of two trials before retiring in early 2014.
The quirky four-year-old was purchased by Alan Campbell for Tegan and Alan to re-educate. Developing Lyrical Discourse into an eventer has had its ups and downs. The handsome bay is a challenging horse and reaching every goal, no matter how small, is a fulfilling achievement for Tegan and Alan.
Tegan and Lyrical Discourse will be tackling the 3* class at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre. Before upgrading to 3* Moet won the 2022 Murray CCN 2*-S, WAYER CCI 2*-S, Moora CCN 2.5*-S and placed second in the 2*-S class at Brigadoon. Their first 3* run was at Wooroloo I3DE which they finished at the top of the scoreboard, and recently followed it up with a win at Murray CCN. We also can’t forget their win in the 2021 Equestrian in The Park Diamond Class.
“Having eight years together we have established a good partnership, hopefully the trip across goes well and we can both put in a good performance.” Tegan says.
Moet, Tegan and their support crew will be leaving for Victoria next Friday 26, May. We wish them all the best for their trip and can’t wait for updates!
