Madamchino & Tessa Sharman | Competitive Pair Heading to Victoria

Off the Track WA is proud to announce the sponsorship of eventers Tessa Sharman and Madamchino in support of their Victorian campaign. The pair will be competing in the CCI2* Long class sponsored by Off the Track at the Melbourne International Three Day Event held from 9-13 June 2022 at Werribee Park.

Madamchino, by Maschino and out of Danewin mare Madam Jewel, is showing the world her winning heritage on the Eventing circuit. Bred and raced by the Yuill family at Limerick Park, this 2015 mare quickly showed her heart wasn’t in racing with just four starts for no placings. Graham Yuill retired her in June 2019 and Tessa was contacted to see if she wanted to start the mare in her second career.

“The Yuill’s give their horses such an amazing start to life, they break them in properly, so the horses have good mouths, they understand what go and stop means and how to walk trot and canter in some sort of outline. It makes the re-training and educating process easy from the beginning.” Tessa says.

Kyra Yuill, Jockey and Graham’s daughter, remembers the mare fondly as a pleasure to have around the stable.

Recent achievements for the pair include winning the CCN1* Class at Brigadoon CCN 2021, placing second in the CCI 2* Long class at Wooroloo International Horse Trials 2021 and third at this year’s South West Horse Trials in the CCI2* Short class.

Tessa feels that her and Rita have a very good chance of finishing in a high placing at Melbourne. Rita has been consistently in the placings here in WA and is constantly improving in all three phases.

The duo plan to commence their journey across the Nullarbor the week commencing 30 May 2022 and will be staying at Hallmark Farm, the home of Olympic Eventer Megan Jones in the lead up to the competition.

We look forward to following and sharing Rita and Tessa’s Victorian campaign.
