OTTWA Clinic Wrap-Up | Encouragement at SEC

On July 06, Off the Track WA hosted an Encouragement Clinic at the State Equestrian Centre. While numbers were lower than usual due to two popular events also running at the same time and the weather being exceptionally cold, everyone had a wonderful day. The OTTWA representative was thrilled to be able to have a chat with some of the riders and learn a bit more about them and their retired racehorses.

We saw some lovely horses attending very brisky groundwork and flatwork lessons in the morning. Riders rugged up and worked hard to introduce their horses to the calm and welcoming environment of the Encouragement Clinic. It was wonderful to see these horses settle throughout the morning to come away with a positive experience. Of the horses registered, ten retired from racing in 2023/24. It is great to see these horses being introduced to their off the track lives.

OTTWA will be back at the State Equestrian Centre on July 21 for our last Training Day for the first Clinic series. We look forward to announcing more clinic dates for the latter half of the 2024 season.
