OTTWA Clinic Wrap-Up | State Equestrian Centre Clinics
On August 17, Off the Track WA hosted another Training Day at the State Equestrian Centre. With coaches such as Denise Barker, Jennifer Bailey and Les Bunning, 14 retired racehorses were in attendance.
Horses in attendance included regular attendee’s Young John and Each Way Tom. Other notable attendees included The Anvil, who was freshly retired from racing in 2024. Highest earning racehorse in attendance was Platoon, regular eventing competitor who utilized the lessons on offer with Denise Barker to improve their flatwork.
On September 07, OTTWA also hosted an Encouragement Clinic at the State Equestrian Centre. With coaches, Kellie Ann-Crowe and Viktoria Chlapik, 16 retired racehorses registered for this clinic. We were thrilled to see so many horses utilizing the lessons offered to develop further into their off the track careers.
Horses that attended this clinic included two OTTWA Retraining Program graduates, Innocent Oscar and She Skates, along with several other clinic regulars. We were thrilled to see the return of thoroughbred gelding, Comparative, who attended several clinics in the 2023 clinic seasons. We were also excited to meet the first palomino Standardbred to attend our clinics, named So Sweet Caroline.
OTTWA are eager for another upcoming clinic to be hosted at Magenup Equestrian Centre this weekend (28 September).
