Pocketknockoutking | Dressage King and Jumping Knockout
At seventeen years old, Pocketknockoutking is thriving in his off the track career. Bred in New Zealand, this Johar gelding began his racing career in 2009 with trainer, Frank Maynard. After eight starts, with one win and one second placing, Pocketknockoutking retired from racing in late 2010 with $10,880 in lifetime earnings.
In 2018, “Joe” was purchased from Megan Little by Anthonia Hartley as a dressage and jumping prospect. Together, Anthonia and Joe have progressed through the levels of dressage and jumping and are continuously looking to train and improve. With many wins and placings together in both disciplines, Joe has proven himself to be an exceptionally talented horse.
“He loves going out to competitions and is much better behaved at a show than he is at home,” commented Anthonia.
Recently, Anthonia and Joe – competed as To Bold to Reason – completed their first official Medium start. With a fourth placing in their Elementary tests and a second in their Medium, Anthonia and Joe won the Best Performed Off the Track Horse award at May’s Swan River Dressage series. Anthonia hopes to continue improving her dressage and to make a return to the jumping ring, aiming for placings at both the State Dressage and Jumping Championships.
OTTWA wish Pocketknockoutking and Anthonia all the best for their competition season ahead and look forward to following their results.
