Riding for the Disabled Association – Carine

Riding for the Disabled Association of Western Australia – Carine Group Inc. (RDA Carine) are just one of our not-for-profit organizations funded through the launch of the OTTWA Community Fund.

Volunteer based, this organization aims to provide the support necessary for people of all ages living with disabilities or mental health conditions to engage in therapeutic riding, recreation and vaulting activities.

There are many benefits to organizations such as RDA Carine, providing physical, psychological, educational and social opportunities. There are several associated centers throughout Western Australia connected to the National RDA body, with over 70 across the country.

RDA Carine utilizes five retired racehorses within their program; three of which were rehomed through the OTTWA Retraining and Rehoming program. With horses such as Major Survivor, Bridies Boy, Let’s HavaCrack, Me Old Mate and Belafonte Boy, retired racehorses are beloved members of the RDA Carine herd.

Standardbred gelding, Major Survivor, along with thoroughbred geldings, Lets HavaCrack and Belafonte Boy were rehomed through the OTTWA Retraining and Rehoming Program to RDA Carine. These horses are used throughout the program to provide equine therapy to RDA’s students, with Belafonte Boy a recent addition to the team.

Off the Track WA are proud to have supported this organization with the development of their program. To learn more about RDA Carine and the fantastic work they do, visit their website: https://www.rdacarine.org.au/ and follow socials – https://www.facebook.com/rdacarine
