Ripatoure | Lovely Little Sheikah
Ripatoure is a 2016 Snippetson mare, bred by Scenic Lodge Thoroughbred Stud. Ripatoure was trained by George Dupre of Team Dupre Racing, where she ran one trial to begin and end her racing career in 2019. Following this retirement, Ripatoure was placed out into a paddock to await the perfect home after becoming a stable favourite.
Tia Moloney worked for Dupre Racing throughout the period of time in which Ripatoure was broken to saddle and began her training. Tia called upon her former employer two years later, with the hope that they may have something suitable for her to buy. Luckily for Tia, stable-favourite, Ripatoure, was still awaiting her future home in the paddocks.
Known as Sheikah around the stables, Tia and Sheikah have built a solid foundation together of trust. Tia rides all throughout her local town, with Sheikah proving to be a solid mount upon roads and around all motor vehicles. Sheikah loves to receive pats from the local kids and occasionally will visit the local hospital to visit residents. Tia and Sheikah have been working to channel Sheikah’s abundance of energy into solidifying dressage foundations.
“We have done a bit of everything, from showjumping, cross country, dressage, gymkhanas, agricultural shows, and trail rides. Anything that is available, we will give it a go,” comments Tia.
At the start of this year, Tia and Sheikah were the winners of the Kellerberrin Dressage Summer Series. They also came fifth at the Eastern Zone ODE in July, almost finishing on their dressage score. Focusing on dressage, Tia has a handful of coaches committed to helping this talented combination achieve their goals. One such coach is Krystal Wang, who Tia met at the OTTWA Northam Clinic in March. Tia and Sheikah hope to try some endurance rides and move up the eventing grades.
OTTWA wish Tia and Sheikah all the best for their future endeavors.
