Royal Command | From Racing to Jumping Superstar

Royal Command is a Street Sense gelding, born in Western Australia with Peters Investments. Trialing originally in 2016, Royal Command continued on in racing for several more years. He retired in 2021 after 25 starts, trained by Jason Pateman, Williams Racing and Durrant Racing. With career highlights of seven wins to claim over $300,000 in prize money and bonuses, Royal Command left the track to begin his off the track career.

Known around the stables as ‘Prince’, Royal Command entered into his off the track career with Isabelle Siegwart. Issy took onboard Prince, attending frequent OTTWA clinics and sponsored events. With the help of these outings, Prince transitioned well into his career and proved to excel in jumping disciplines. Issy and Prince became a strong partnership, moving up the levels to compete frequently and successfully.

In October 2024, Prince was purchased by Tilly Denny-Itl, a client of Isabella’s. With the foundational education instilled by Issy, Prince turned out to be a wonderful next step for Tilly to move up the grades.

When asked what attracted Tilly to Prince, she commented that it was ‘how hard he tries and his goofy personality’ that interested her most.

“He always puts in 110% when we’re out competing together, and is also calm and laid back whether we are at home, or out at competitions.”

Prince’s confidence has helped Tilly to find confidence in her own jumping, ensuring that she always feels safe onboard. Together they have begun competing in 70 and 80cm classes, winning both their classes at Wanneroo Agricultural Show in November as the only pair to go double clear. Tilly hopes to continue competing Prince throughout 2025, aiming for confident and consistent rounds in their 80cm classes. She also plans to venture into eventing, and aspires to be competing 1m rounds somewhere down the line. No matter what they do together, Tilly and Prince will no doubt be smiling.

Off the Track WA wish Royal Command and Tilly all the best for their 2025 year together. Prince is a prime example of a talented race-horse turned show jumper and eventer.
