Scenic Pro | Thor and Chatfield Learning and Working Together

Scenic Pro is a 2015 gelding by Rapid Equine Breeding stud, Proart. Beginning his race career in late 2018, Scenic Pro trialed three times with trainer, Julie Clements, before hitting the track for his first and final race at Bunbury. Scenic Pro retired with $165 in lifetime earnings after only one start.

Rehomed in early 2020, Scenic Pro was purchased from Julie by Zoe Chatfield. Zoe bought the gelding as a young four-year old off the track mount with the aim to learn through their experiences together and establish skills in producing green/young horses.

“Thor (Scenic Pro) was not an easy horse to restart as he is very stubborn, but after gaining his trust and a lot of groundwork, we have converted our cues into our under-saddle work,” commented Zoe proudly.

Zoe describes Thor as a big personality, who enjoys cuddles and pulling faces. Along with this big personality, Thor is a very willing and hard-working horse who tries his best to please. Zoe fondly recalled their win at Peel Showman in the 45cm as Thors greatest achievement so far.

“2023 was his first year of competing and he came home with the win!”

Together, Zoe hopes to continue building Thors confidence in jumping and building a stronger bond. Once this has been achieved, Zoe hopes to one day compete Thor to elementary level dressage and jumping 80cm confidently.
