Transitory | Little Poppy Loves Jumping
Bred by Mungrup Stud, Transitory was born in 2019. By Playing God and out of Fleeting Angel, Transitory trialed twice in July of 2023 under Neville Parnham, before retiring from racing entirely with no official racing starts.
Following the decision to retire Transitory, the mare was rehomed to young rider, Chloe Land. Chloe had met the mare while she was at their family property to be broken in before her trials and fell in love with her during the process.
“She was the cutest and kindest baby, and she was very small so the perfect size for me.”
Affectionately known as Poppy, Transitory enjoyed a long break before beginning her off the track work with Chloe and mother, Natasha Plunkett.
“We started with just trail riding and some flat work and getting her used to new things,” said Chloe. “Poppy quickly showed that she really loves to jump after popping over some small jumps at home.”
After discovering this love for jumping, Chloe took Poppy for her first jumping lesson with Rosie Oliver in August of this year. Poppy settled into jumping like a pro and enjoys weekly lessons now.
“Poppy is the sweetest horse in the world. She tries her hardest at everything you ask of her.”
Poppy and Chloe competed at Northam Agricultural Show this year, placing third in the 60cm and first in her 70cm to win Best Performed OTT Horse. Chloe was thrilled with how Poppy handled the scary and loud atmosphere of the show and hopes to continue jumping Poppy and is eager to see how far they can go as a team.
OTTWA wish Chloe and Poppy all the best for their jumping future together.
